TIPS/TAPS Award!
MCS recently received some BIG NEWS! We responded to an RFP
called TIPS/TAPS, which stands for "The Interlocal Purchasing
System (TIPS) Texas Arkansas Purchasing System (TAPS)".
Although the name implies Texas and Arkansas, the
Purchasing Support Group is actually for School Districts in
Arizona, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana,
Kansas, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Missouri, New Mexico, Tennessee,
Texas, Virginia andWashington.
We learned that MCS was awarded the bid!
Participation of government entities will provide the legally
required competition for
contracts for commonly purchased items, thereby saving the
individual government agency the cost of going through the
competitive process. Basically, this means that school Districts
in
these states are not required to do an RFP, they can simply
purchase directly from this bid.
While we welcome open competition, we are excited that this will
save Districts a tremendous amount of labor costs in completing the
remaining steps of the review process. In addition, the review
process becomes difficult in comparing the features available in
the various software packages.
We are very excited about the award of this bid!!!
Our convenient payment portal between parents and their local school systems is achieving GREAT praise!
SchoolPaymentSolutions.com is the payment portal between parents and their local school systems. The service allows parents to put funds into their child's school meal account using the Internet. This is a great opportunity to streamline the District's meal program process with automated payments and electronic filing.
After only 18 months of use, SchoolPaymentSolutions.com , has grown from two (2) Districts to over twenty (20) school Districts. We are receiving praise on the sites ease of use and reliability. We currently process an average of $1 Million per month through our site. Best of all, the service is FREE to the school District! ALL fees are paid by the parent through a small transaction fee. In the very near future, the system will also allow parents to manage other school accounts, such as lab fees or book fees!
If your District is not currently taking advantage of our on-line payment system, contact an MCS Representative today or go to www.SchoolPaymentSolutions.com for more information.
Upcoming Release of our Online Meal Applications---ApplyforLunch.com
We are anxious about the release of our online meal applications!!! ApplyForLunch.com is our web site portal for parents to complete their Free & Reduced lunch applications using the Internet. Districts may customize the application, instructions, and aspects of the application. This module is currently being beta tested by Broward County, FL (283 schools) and Howard County, MD (72 schools). The feedback has been sensational!
This module is scheduled to be released in early 2010.
